Why do cancer incidences increase with age?

Each cell in the body contains a gene called an oncogene. Once this gene is turned on cancer can result. Carcinogens are responsible for triggering the oncogene. As time goes by, you are exposed to more carcinogens therefore increasing the likely hood that the oncogene will be turned on.
