What can I do in the military?
Up until one hour ago, I thought that I was going to graduate from high school in May, go to BCT and AIT for the National Guard and start college as an ROTC cadet at North Georgia College next January, graduate four years later, and finally commission as an officer in the Army and retire from there. However, I have just looked online about a knee condition (Osgood-Schlatter disease) and I am fairly certain that I have it and that I would be disqualified from entrance into the army according to this: AR 40-501: Standards of Medical Fitness, para. 2-10 (c) (8), as there is a noticeable bump under my knee. However, is there still ANY possibility of a career in the armed forces? And I mean ANY (I know army is probably out of the question, and it's intuitively obvious that I'd be denied from the Marines)! I am an 18 year old female and my ASVAB score is 85. So please, help me fulfill my dream (which is to serve my country in the armed forces, and hopefully retire before I turn 50 (-; )
