I don't want to scare you about the infection in your finger, but if it is cellulitis you will need to be on IV antibiotics. Your mother should take you to the hospital to have it treated and no, they are not going to cut your finger off. They may put you on IV antibiotics though. However, staph/cellulitis infections don't itch, they hurt and they cause a lot of swelling. It could be that you just have a simple impetigo infection if they only symptoms are itching and a rash.
