How do i start my hair care journey?

last week i decided to start a hair care journey.I brought some nature fusion shampoo and some good conditioner.i aslo cut about an inch off my hair because i had such bad split ends.i am a 17 year old black female with a lot of indian in my famil and my mom is from trinidad.my hair resembles white people's hair after i stlye it.it just seems to never grow though but it is healthy looking but obviously it must not be healthy if it's length never changes.i'm also going to start drinking plenty of water i want to know what else i should do to complete my 1 year hair journey
