Everyone gets upset when you tell them how to raise their own children. You insulted him as a parent, you insulted his child, and i'm sure there is still hurt feelings from what happened in the past. Call him, or write to him if he won't answer. Even if you think you are right in your oppinion, it wasn't your place to comment, and you need to tell him that you are sorry for intruding in his personal affairs with his child. Im sure if you are sincere, he'll come around
