Deep none stop cough ! need advice asap please.?

hello guys, am currently sick for about a week now and am starting to get worries due to the fact what started as a simple cold i think is leading to more serious lung sickness. It has been exactly a week since i got sick symptoms started as mild cough on last Thursday turned out as a high fever over the weekend but i haven't had a fever since last Saturday. The fever is gone but the cough stayed i been coughing everyday since last Thursday spitting out small amounts of mucus not so thick but in the middle of the night i wake up and the thick mucus comes up really aggressive cough causing me to vomit flam and once i vomit all the flam out is a deep dry cough following with a wheezing when i breath. i think i might have acute bronchitis and am considering to see a doctor on Saturday if i keep coughing till then. please help me what drugs i can take for this and what i can make at home. thanks also does not help the fact that am a smoker but I have cut down to 1 cig a day since I got sick.
